It’s taken me a little while to write this as I thought the vets may have reached out to understand why I decided to move my dog to another vet. Like most people I read reviews before making key decisions about my pets care. And I was amaze at the number of great reviews this practice had so I moved my dog over and booked in her first appointment. It was late in the day but I walked in excited and expected lots of warmth from reception. However this was not the case the receptionist did not even look up to acknowledge me. The atmosphere was like a morgue. When she did I explained I was here for a 1st appt, no ask for name or anything just a blank face and just said ok. So I sat down. My dog is very anxious and she was shaking, at no point did the receptionist make a fuss - which is what I was led to believe by the reviews. So we sat there for a while, water bowls were empty, I saw a treat jar and thought let me try and calm my dog down. I was one handedly trying to open the jar and again no movement from the receptionist to help. I did manage to grab a treat and sat back down. About 5 mins later she spoke to me and asked if I could weigh my dog. Which I did. The vet was then ready to see us. I was carrying my dog as she is anxious, so expecting a warm welcome I was met with…’is there a problem with her legs’. To which I responded no she will run if I put her down as she is scared. Not a comment I expected. We walked into the room and I placed my dog on the table. We started chatting, my dog was very scared and she attempted to examine my dog to which point being anxious she growled at the vet. Allegedly she felt her teeth and immediately brought out 3 muzzles. I could not believe it - firstly there was no attempt to relax an anxious dog and then to bring out 3 muzzles like they are on standby was shocking. She is a toy cavapoo not a dangerous breed. I was requested to muzzle her which I did it just got worse and my poor dog left very distressed after that visit and so did I. I was criticised for her nutrition but she couldn’t tell me why and asked to google recipes. I immediately that evening transferred her to another vet. Saddened that in two years I’ve not had an experience like it. I thought I would get a call from them to understand why I requested to move but nothing which is the sad not wanting to know why you’ve lost a customer. Maybe it was an off day for the team in there or it’s just lack of experience with anxious dogs when you are newly qualified. Reviews are great but I would recommend visiting understand how experienced the vets are before signing up and make sure you and your pet are fully comfortable.

Had a very emotional experience of having to put our 20 year old cat to sleep this week. Beth and the rest of the staff made us feel so comfortable with a very diffucult experience. I cant speak highly enough about their professionalism, empathy and their obvious love of the pets they deal with. I couldnt go in the vets as i was rather upset so my partner went in but Beth came outside ro talk to me by our car which i hadnt expected. Beth's communication of our cats condition and what was best for her was very clear and comforting knowing we were doing thd right thing for Betsie. A terribly sad experience but handled in the best possible way. Cant recommend them highly enough. Thank you. Jill and Steve

Took my angel today for the first time what can I say every one is so nice caring and welcoming like you was family beff and abbie vets so so lovely I would recommend anyone to go to this veterinary centre if you what 100% care and made to feel at ease and welcoming even other staff was amazing thank you everyone see you again soon Ian x

Great addition to Hoddesdon/Broxbourne. Caring staff throughout the practice and were fantastic with my 2 dogs. Glad to no longer have to deal with the rip off merchants at Walton Lodge

Would thoroughly recommend this vets, Abigail is lovely & is brilliant with my cat, Cleo. She is patient, caring & gives practical, helpful advice. I have joined their monthly payment plan for flea treatment, worming, vaccinations etc which I am finding really good. Much more of a personal service rather than going to the big concerns like Medivet who I was with previously.

Absolutely brilliant vets- brought my big reactive dog for a checkup and the team was amazing. The vet we see made my dog very comfortable, respected his reactiveness and made him feel happy/comfy. They want to help you the best they can and are very friendly. Thank you! Will be back soon :)
