Cannot fault this whole team, my latest addition was neutered recently, not a straight forward neutering with only 1 testicle! they were brilliant with him and me, the stressed mum :) Elwood is healing well and loves the Hertford team - mentions to Marina, Angie, Ellie and thanks for the hugs Chloe!

Vets for Pets in Hertford are, without doubt, the kindest and most compassionate veterinary team we’ve ever encountered. They took exceptional care of our beloved cat, Gingi, throughout his later years, always treating him with patience, warmth, and genuine affection. Marina, our designated vet, was truly outstanding. She consistently went above and beyond to support Gingi’s ongoing heart condition, showing extraordinary care and professionalism at every stage. In his final moments, she handled everything with such tenderness and dignity. We could not have asked for a more gentle, thoughtful, or comforting farewell, and we will always be grateful that she was there to guide us through it. The kindness didn’t end there—Vets for Pets even sent us a handwritten card expressing their condolences for the loss of our precious boy. That small gesture meant the world to us and perfectly reflects the compassion of the whole team. I cannot recommend Vets for Pets Hertford highly enough. A huge thank you to Marina and the entire team for the love, expertise, and care they showed Gingi throughout his long life. We will always be grateful. XX

Wanted a health check up for my dog as she had a lump and a few other issues. My consultation was very disappointing. When I saw who the vet was i should have refused to see her from past experience, she doesn't care about the animals she only cares for what expensive products she can sell you. She hardly touched my dog for the check, she listened to her heart , felt her spine and continued and how long my dogs claws were. My dog is old and suffers with achy joints so cannot walk her much. The lump was felt and measured but thats all we knew, she didn't even give any ideas of what it might be, she was just muttering under her breath. At the very last minute she checked my dogs ears, so, heart, spine and ears were checked and thats a health check up that I paid £54 pound for, I could have done that myself and been better off money wise. She then proceeded to tell me she needs 3 lots of medication, 1 for pain, 1 for inflammation and 1 for my dogs confusion, bearing in mind she's old and will be slightly confused. I was told she would give me a 7 day trial of these tablets to see if they help....trial? I thought a trial was free, but no, she proceeded to add the medication which escalated the bill tremendously. I asked if I could have an alternative as im not working and have limited funds, she raised her voice at me and demanded, do i want to see my animal in pain, I was shocked. Obviously I don't want to see my dog in pain so I compromised to what I could afford, I was treat terribly, I felt awful. I asked about if my dog would need further medication as I wouldn't be able to afford this and was told if that was the case then she would give me a prescription to get the medication cheaper online......why? Why can a vet not do this straight away for customers experiencing financial difficulties, why do they have to be so rude and make you feel like you don't care for your pet? This is awful, I paid £83 for something so awful i was upset when I left. I telephoned to ask what the lump may be and was told the vet didn't know, I'm sure they come across lumps and bumps on a daily basis and any good vet would have some idea. I won't ever be returning to this awful place again, and I'm sure I won't get a refund on the poor service I received..

Marina and the team saved my dog's life. We unexpectedly found that he had an extremely large tumour. They were so kind when I was very upset by the news, and treated us with compassion throughout the whole process. They arranged for a specialist ultrasound and then completed the surgery successfully. With my dog's diagnosis, we were prepared for the worst, but the treatment he received was amazing, including the follow up care. We were encouraged to phone them with any worries we had during recovery. You can tell that the whole team really care about the animals they look after. I wouldn't still have my dog with me if it wasn't for them - I can't recommend them enough.

Our cat is having a significant personality clash with a new-cat-on-the-block in the last 6+ months and we have had to take several trips to the vets to manage deep wounds, abscess and nerve damage. Marina, Mia and all the staff are kind and compassionate with pets and humans alike. I can’t thank them enough for the care and attention they have given our battered pusscat. Though I hope not to be visiting them again soon, I know if we do, he will be in good hands. Thank you. X
