The clinic is noted for its role as a Veterinary Nurse Training facility, indicating a focus on both high-quality care and education.
Customer feedback presents a mixed picture, with the clinic holding a 4.3-star rating from 540 reviews on Google Maps. While the quantity of reviews suggests a broad base of customer experiences, individual accounts vary significantly.
Positive feedback highlights the clinic’s caring and competent staff. For instance, Gemma Slade appreciates the attentive service and trustworthy recommendations, specifically mentioning staff members Olivia and Sophie. Similarly, Lorraine Moody praises the knowledgeable and compassionate care her pet received, resulting in a swift recovery.
However, not all experiences are positive. Surjit Chana recounts a distressing experience related to the handling of his pet after euthanasia, describing it as a failure in compassion and logistics, which significantly affected his overall perception of the clinic. Additionally, Lily Dreaming criticizes the clinic's pricing practices, suggesting they could be more transparent and customer-friendly, particularly regarding medication prescriptions.
While Medivet 24 Hour Watford is praised for its expertise and round-the-clock availability, these mixed reviews indicate areas for improvement in customer communication and post-treatment care. Pricing transparency and handling sensitive situations with empathy appear to be critical areas where the clinic could enhance its service.

Very caring staff and confident in their abilities. Not cheap but trust them to only recommend appropriate treatment. Olivia at reception is fabulous and Sophie one of the the nurses. Would recommend

Vet was excellent. Quick efficient and helpful. What would help is if there were blinds in the cat waiting area, I have been there several times when it is too hot for already stressed cats and the upstairs waiting area is filled with noisy dogs.

We had an awful experience here in March of this year (after many years of spending an absolute fortune ) when our much loved German Shepherd was euthanised and then left lying on the ground whilst we made arrangements to have him cremated. He was put to sleep at midday on a Friday and after making the necessary arrangements I contacted Medivet of my plan to have him cremated at Resting Pets on the Monday. I was assured it was fine to leave him there but got a telephone call later that evening to say they couldn’t keep my dog at the practice as their cold storage was full. They had apparently euthanised several large pets that day and they had no space for my dog. I find that very difficult to believe. The more unbelievable thing is, they offered to keep him but he would be still on the floor and when I collected him on Monday he’d be in a state of decomposition and be smelling. It was absolutely heartbreaking. He was left lying on the ground until we picked him up at 8.30pm that evening, it was a very warm day and he was emitting a foul smell. Absolutely disgraceful. I am still so angry at the management and staff that they allowed this to happen. I cannot think of my pet without thinking of Medivet and what they allowed to happen. They’ve tarnished my memory of my dog. Such a cruel thing to be allowed to happen. They knew how much we loved him. My complaint was dealt with by the practice manager and the vets on duty never had the courtesy to call and apologise. I will never forgive them. I deleted my previous post where I gave the surgery 5 stars.

Very bad, are trying to get the more money out of you. I went there for my cat. He is 6kg and then needed 2 bottles of each medication for the amount they asked me to give. They charges for prescription in the price + the price of those medications. Which is fine but still very excessive compared to online. But I talked with others vets which agreed they should have directly giving me 2 bottles and not charging the prescription twice, just the medications twice. But no, they waited until I realised it, to charge me twice the prescription. They should also have let me know if needed 2. They knew. It was obvious. You cant give 2ml twice a day for 8 days with only 15ml... mathematics are very bad here... Notes : they charged more then the doubles for just prescribing some medications. Also noticed on the box, they said on the boxe dosages should be 4kg : 1ml 5kg : 1.25. On the list it seem to be only 0.25 by extra kilos... and then my cat should be 1.50ml not 2ml... i am a bit worried now that I also noticed that.
